      Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hangzhou Haigui Translation?

Hangzhou Haigui Translation is a leading foreign language translation company that is based in Hangzhou, China. Since the beginning of 2004, it has been dedicated to providing top-quality foreign language translation services to the world and has grown to establish strategic alliances throughout the world.

What services does Hangzhou Haigui Translation provide?

Whether your needs are translation of documents or web sites, interpretation, localization of software, multilingual designs and graphics, or video / audio production, Hangzhou Haigui Translation delivers. We are totally vertically integrated and our services are available for most of the foreign languages on almost any subject.

What is the difference between translation and interpretation?

In our industry, translation refers to the written word. It is changing written text from one language into another. High quality translation does not simply exchange words; it captures the meaning, feeling and linguistic nuances of the original text.

Interpretation applies to the spoken word. There are two different forms of interpretation: a) Consecutive and b) Simultaneous. Consecutive interpretation is generally used in small groups, courts or travel. The speaker pauses after short segments in his speech while the interpreter conveys the message in the target language.

Simultaneous interpretation is used most often in conjunction with large groups. In this scenario, the interpreters generally work in pairs and are housed in a soundproof booth. The speaker's dialogue is transmitted electronically to the soundproof booth through headsets that the interpreters wear. The interpreters immediately, in tandem, speak into a microphone in the target language. The attendees receive the target language via headphones. There are no breaks in the conversation.

Who is behind Hangzhou Haigui Translation?

Hangzhou Haigui Translation has more than 30 highly skilled linguistic personnel as well as editors, proofreaders, computer programmers, design/graphics technicians, and project managers and coordinators. In addition, we have several hundreds of contractors throughout China and the whole world.

How do you finish a translation project?

Our procedures for translation follow a Vertically Integrated Process. We receive jobs via electronic mail, BBS, modem, courier, etc. Once a job is quoted and approved, a project team is formed utilizing subject-qualified translators and editors. The project leader follows the course of the job from start to finish and is available to the client at any time.

How do you charge for your translation services?

For simple translation projects, we charge our clients by the word, based on the source language. In general we don't charge extra for technical work or timeframe constraints. Rates vary depending on the languages needed. Other services are charged on an hourly basis.

How do we pay Hangzhou Haigui Translation?

The first-time clients must pay half of the service fees before we start the services, and pay the rest after the project is done. We accept checks and credit cards. We can also send an invoice with a Purchase Order Number within 30 days.

Can you handle technical materials?

Yes. We have subject-qualified translators and editors in all the majors, and most of the minor fields.

How do you ensure the confidentiality of my documents?

In-house employees handle all sensitive documents strictly. Documents and our computer servers are stored in a temperature controlled, restricted access area. Please read our privacy policy.

How can I send you the document to be translated?
It's easier for us all if you provide us with the document in electronic form - as an email attachment, ideally in a standard, easy to open and use program such as Microsoft Word. However, we can also deal with documents received by fax and courier.

Will my document be formatted for print?
This is not included as part of our standard service, but let us know if you require formatting, and we'll take care of it for a small add-on fee.

How will you send back the document?
Again, the easiest way is to send it by email, but we can also return documentation by fax or courier.

Thank you very much! If you have more questions, leave us a message.
